In order to save your time, and in order to let you know immediately whether this blog will interest you, I will define it as simply as I can... The posts that follow are my opinions on matters of faith, family, and country. To define it even more simply, they are my OPINIONS. While I may posts facts, statistics, and evidence, all the conclusions that I draw from these will be mine alone, and I do not expect you to agree. In fact, I encourage you -- the reader -- to think for yourself and to engage me in debate should you find it worth your while.
Now that I have defined, very generally, this blog through what it IS... I will further define it through what it is not. It is NOT an outlet for hate. It is NOT an outlet for racism. It is NOT an outlet for rants against people with different beliefs than mine. I support free thinking and courteous, rational debate based on facts -- not on personal attacks on character. I am pledging to you -- dear reader -- that I will hold myself to this standard. If I do not, please, I invite you to call me out! I will personally apologize. That being said, I expect the same of my readers (if it turns out that anyone may be interested). We will NOT invoke personal attacks. We will NOT let our opinions lead us to hate each other. We will NOT forsake the forgotten etiquette of political discourse. If we can do this, then I believe that you and I both -- dear reader -- can benefit from each other.
I am a conservative. I am a republican. I am a Lutheran. I am also a husband, father, son, friend, and proud American. I am sure that my readers are honest, genuine, people with sincere beliefs of their own. If we disagree, that does not make us enemies. Please! Let's find some common ground.
